Facilities for high through-put data processing

This programme line concentrates on the computing capacity needed to process research data, primarily via High Performance Computing Cloud systems. Issues which play a role here include providing extra peak capacity easily, the sharing of best practices and a joint action towards suppliers. An inventory of the High Performance Computing facilities at the UMCs has been made, as well as a list of the most frequently applied big data analysis protocols in medical imaging and genetics. Pilots are performed to gain experience with several solutions to scale out between compute facilities. Solutions include federated cloud models. The programme is nationally and internationally embedded via BBMRI-NL, BBMRI-EU, SURF and ELIXIR.
